Reed Appointed to Commitee for Smart Communities

Dr. Jeff Reed was appointed to the committee to evaluate wireless communicatons in smart communities by Governor Terry McAuliffe of the Commonwealth of Virginia.


Dr. Jeff Reed Presents Lectures in Taiwan

Taiwan VisitDr. Jeff Reed visited Taipei, Taiwan on Sepetember 15, 2017 as the keynote speaker and panelist at the State of Spectrum Sharing for Governments and Tegulators and the Challenges Ahead conference series. Dr. Reed's presentation was titled "Spectrum Management in the Era of Digital Convergence. Dr. Reed also participated in a mini workshop of GICE, NTU. His presentation was titled "Going Beyond CBRS: New Innovations in Spectrum Management.


Virginia Tech Spin Off Company Federated Wireless Recieves Venture Capital Funding

Federated Wireless, Inc., a Virginia Tech spin-off company, has raised $42 million dollars in venture capital funding in round B to revolutionize spectrum sharing and reduce the costs of delivering wireless service. Wireless faculty members Dr. Jeff Reed, Charles Clancy, Robert McGwier and Joe Mitola (Hume Center of Virginia Tech) are the founding members of Federated Wireless. Read more at Business Wire.

Dr. Jeffrey Reed Testifies Before Congress

Dr. Jeffrey Reed and Dr. Jerry Park Coordinate the 2nd National Science Foundation's Enabling Access to the Radio Spectrum (EARS) Workshop

The National Science Foundation recruited Dr. Jeff Reed and Dr. Jerry Park, both faculty members of Wireless @ Virginia Tech, to host the 2015 Enhancing Access to the Radio Spectrum (EARS) workshop. The purpose of the workshop was to assemble an interdisciplinary group of distinguished researchers and spectrum stakeholders so that they can discuss and create a vision for future spectrum use, identify the problems to be overcome, the research needed to overcome these problems, and the financial and human capital resources necessary to support this vision.

Dr. Jeffrey Reed Serves on International Advisory Committee for IEEE COMSOC

Dr. Jeffrey Reed was invited to serve on the International Advisory Committee by the local chapter of the first ever IEEE ComSoc for the International Conference on Telecommunications and Photonics in Bangladesh. The conference will be held December 26 - 28, 2015 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
